Today I went to the Fiesta In the Park at Lake Eola with Danielle. It was quite good. Lots of interesting craftwork and fine art. There was a booth in which a woman sold Japanese inspiered watercolor pieces. Most of them were of animals and I liked them a lot. Another booth sold these amazing tree sculptures that were formed of wire. Unfortunately I'm kind of out of money, so I wasn't really able to buy anything. We did get free raver necklaces, though.

I can't wait to turn 18. What should I do in celebration (besides party with Catie)?

High school is almost over.

I want to know why my English teacher is having us read aloud, as a class, a book about two teenaged girls who have problems. I am so past this!

I must admit, I was fervent about entering my 12th grade English year because I was eager to study European literature. We've done a bit throughout the school year, but only excerpts from the textbook. How come everybody else is reading Oscar Wilde and my class is reading a book for "ages 9-12," as reported by Amazon.com? What? Am I supposed to relate?

Anyway, prom is Saturday.

No Snow Show was the best thing ever. You need to read this. JD and Tara, this will likely be of interest to you!! :)

Nina, Josh, Danielle and I got inside the field JUST as Kill Hannah started playing, which was amazing, considering we thought we had missed them. They were super super good, and luckily there wasn't too many people around yet, so I could see decently. We hung out during The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Buckcherry (bleh).

Danielle and I eventually decided that everyone sucked because there was simply no way I could see onto the stage at this point unless I was waaaay back, which I wasn't happy with. While Sugarcult played, we set out on our journey to find a way to get in front of the barrier. Our goal was to find a band member who could help us out (we had run into Dan from KH earlier). We saw the VIP area and figured we'd see someone important, so we headed that way. We ran into Dan Newlin, the attorney who (I believe) was a sponsor of the event, and he TOTALLY GAVE US VIP PASSES. YES. We went to the security guard at the VIP gate, and he put up fight and said we couldn't get in without wristbands. We went and found the alcohol stand and explained our situation to the dude with the wristbands. He asked if we had our IDs and we were like... no. Then he said, "Oh... okay." and gave us wristbands anyway. I love him. We went back to the VIP security guard and our conversation went something like this,

Him: Uh... I still can't let you in.
Us: WTF, why, we have everything you said we needed!
Him: Well, see, you don't have the marker on your pass.
Us: Marker? What?
Him: It's inside the pass. Only I can see it. HA HA HA!

Yeah, whatever, we outsmarted him by going to the other VIP gate. That guard was nice and let us in.

We finally found our way to the backstage area, saw the guys from Kill Hannah, and told them what was up. Unfortunately, as we had VIP passes and not All Access passes (a nice security guard was "looking the other way," as we weren't supposed to be back there), they had no way of escorting us onto the stage.

We had been hanging around for a while and were about to give up and go back around front, when low and behold, we saw Jade and Smith!! We asked if they could somehow get us on stage, and they were like, "lol sure, we can do that, no problem!" AMAZING.

We saw the end of Taking Back Sunday's performance from the stage (they were neat), and then waited for AFI's stuff to get set up. THEN WE WATCHED THE SHOW AND IT WAS ENTIRELY BRILLIANT AND FROM A BRAND NEW PERSPECTIVE AND SO MUCH FUN. Davey sang to us a few times (the 15 or so of us who were watching from the stage), which was very nice. They played mostly singles, as it was a radio show, and the set list wasn't very long, but regardless, it was amazing due to our circumstances. I took lots of pictures and got a couple videos as I had Nina's camera with me.

After the show, we went back to the backstage area, met Jade again, got my Clandestine signed and a picture, then found Adam and did the same. They are so nice, seriously. We left the field and went around to some fence and found Nina, Josh, Liz, and Freddie with a large group of people. Adam and Hunter were hanging out and signing stuff!! :) Hunter played with Liz's Sidekick and sent IMs to a bunch of her buddy list (including me, lol), and then he signed my Clandestine.

We waited around a bit for Davey, but finally left as it was getting late and my mom was waiting to drive us home. Overall, it was pretty much the most brilliant night of my life, and thank you so much Danielle for hanging out with me the entire time and being aggressive, hahaha.

PICTURES AND THINGS COMING LATER. WHENEVER NINA GETS HOME FROM WORK.
